Q1. How can I register to Smiles Wallet?

Basically, pre-marketing membership registration is through the website: http://www.smileswallet.jp.  After  our target launch in May 2017, registration will be done thru the smiles wallet application from your smart phones and tablets. 

a.  Download Smiles Wallet Application to your mobile or tablet.

b.  Go to Smiles Wallet screen and press the button “CREATE AN ACCOUNT” and follow the steps of registration.

Q2. To become a member, what ID are acceptable?

Normally, for foreigners in Japan, Residence Card is initially required.  For those who do not have residence card, valid passport including visa page and proof of address is acceptable. 

For Japanese Nationals, Driver’s License, Health Insurance card and passport are acceptable. 

Q3. How can I send my valid ID?

During the Pre- Marketing period, you can take a picture of your ID and upload it thru the Smiles Wallet website. 


Sending Money

Q1. Can I send money even if I am not a member?

 Only  members can avail Smiles Wallet services.

Q2. Can I send money right away? 

Yes,  after you received e-mail notification of approval of your registration. However, you can only send any amount only up to ¥ 100,000.

Q3. If I will register now when can I send money through Smiles Wallet?

After target launch in the second quarter of 2017.  You will be notified accordingly.

Q4. Can I remit over the counter?

No, we do not have over-the-counter remittance service. Please use bank transfer.

Q2. Do I need to register again when the Smiles Wallet Application is already available?

No. After downloading the Smiles Wallet APP, you can directly log-in using the e-mail address and password you used during the Pre-Marketing registration.

Q3. How do I know I can already start remitting?

Smiles Wallet will send you e-mail notification and make public announcement of official start date of operations.
